Winter Happenings

Well as I have been reminded, it has been a very long while since I've made an entry here. (I heard ya, Chris!) I do apologize. So here, rather late, are some pictures from this winter. It's nothing too exciting unless you know and love us and like to see pictures of the kids! But here they are nonetheless.

Some pictures from Tim's parents' house on Christmas Eve. It was a rather poignant time this year as Tim's folks are moving to a retirement home in Lancaster in April, so it was the last Christmas in their house. We always do Christmas on Christmas Eve with Tim's family - it's apparently a German thing. It's become a great tradition, though, and we all look forward to the vienner schnitzel and spaetzle. Yum. At least THAT won't go away!

Below, all four of us, and Emily and Daniel with their cousins Rebekah and Jonathan. Tim's dad reading the Christmas passage with Daniel looking on.

Some pictures from Christmas morning at our house. It was a great year this year, with both the kids being old enough to be really into it. Daniel fed off of Emily's excitement a lot.

This wasn't on Christmas, but it's a really sweet picture of the kids. I love how they love each other!

We had had a couple nice snows this year, but only one was big enough to do anything with. Most of them were just dustings of a couple inches that melted in a day. We did get the chance to build a snowman with the neighbor boy Gabriel, though, so it was a successful winter!

Emily also had a winter play based on Hansel and Gretel in school. It was basically a concert with a couple children doing speaking parts. I thought she was very cute. Unfortunately, I'm still trying to figure out my new camera in some ways and never got a really good picture (I need to figure out how to take pictures inside when it's too far away for flash to work. I know I can, but don't know how yet.), but here's some of them anyway.

She's the little head poking out in the very middle, behind all the tall kids! I don't know why they didn't let the little ones be in front.... You can also see a video clip of this in (appropriately enough) the video clip section of this website.

Here she is - in the white dress - as they were lining up.

The one and only truly interesting thing that happened to us this winter was that Tim went on a mission trip to Louisianna - but I'll save that for another post!
